BSCI THESIS
As part of the Building Science Thesis, we are required to have a certain amount of student selected work included. I chose to do the foundation layout with the robotic total station. This activity taught me a valuable skill using a new tool in the construction industry. The ability to save time using technology is one of the many ways construction is evolving.
The total station has a tablet computer included with it that allows you to upload your drawings and select points to layout.
The software gives you visual commands to find your point. It starts with a very broad command and then switches to a more precise movement command to line up with the points.
