ABOUT TANNER MAYFIELD

My name is Tanner Mayfield, and I am currently a senior BSCI student at Auburn University. I am from Madison, Alabama, and developed a passion for building during high school when I took a technical theatre class that taught me about woodworking for the very first time. I knew I wanted to pursue a career that involved building things from scratch. I look forward to finding a career path that I am passionate about and pursuing it whole-heartily.
Auburn University's Building Science Professional Program has been a transformational period in my life. I have learned more in two years than I could have ever imagined. The critical thinking skills I have gained will shape the way I approach my construction career. I desire to be a lifelong learner, always working towards new goals. I have always been self-motivated, but building science school has taught me strategies to accomplish my goals. I have also learned more about how I view the world and how I hope to influence all the people that I will encounter. I feel like construction is not just a career for me, but a true calling from the Lord.
In August 2015, I was blessed to marry my high school sweetheart. We plan to move back to the Madison/Huntsville area after my graduation in August 2018. When I am not studying for school, I enjoy playing with my dog, working on projects in the backyard, and watching Netflix with my wife.
